Alaskan pianist Sasha Bult-Ito has appeared as soloist with orchestras in both the United States and Europe. She made her orchestral solo debut with the Fairbanks Symphony Orchestra at age seven after winning the Fairbanks Symphony Concerto Competition, of which she was a rare, three-time first-place laureate. Sasha has performed in Koerner Hall as a finalist of The Glenn Gould School Annual Concerto Competition, and was a semi-finalist of the 2015 International e-Piano Junior and Fourteenth Eastman Young Artists International Piano Competitions.

Recent performances include chamber appearances at the Scotia Festival of Music, solo performances at the Southeastern Piano Festival, John Perry Academy Summer Piano Festival, Internationaler Klaviersommer Cochem Meisterkurs in Germany, and as concerto soloist with the Brunensis Virtuosi Orchestra under the baton of Danwen Wei at MusicFest Perugia in Italy. Sasha serves as Director’s Assistant at the John Perry Academy Summer Piano Festival in California, and alongside fellow members of the Velox Quartett, as Artist Faculty and a Co-Artistic Director at the Emerald Coast Chamber Music Festival and Institute in Florida. She previously served on the Young Jury for the 2018 Arthur Fraser International Piano Competition in South Carolina.

Sasha has appeared on stages in numerous parts of North America and Europe, and has given well over two-dozen solo recitals of differing programs in the past eight years. She has performed in masterclasses by such notable artists as Boris Slutsky, Alexander Kobrin, Jonathan Biss, Matti Raekallio, and the late master pedagogues Leon Fleisher and Nelita True.

Apart from her love of the piano’s vast solo repertoire, Sasha has an immense interest in chamber music. The Ezra Duo, founded with violist Jacob Clewell, are first-prize winners of numerous international competitions, earning invitations to perform in New York, Vienna, and Sarajevo. The duo participated in the Città di Pinerolo e Torino – Città Metropolitana International Chamber Music Competition in Italy in March of 2018, and has performed in Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall in New York, and Toronto’s Koerner and Mazzoleni Halls. The Ezra Duo embarked on their first tour in March 2019 with their “Women in Music” program in honor of Women’s History Month, performing in the southern United States and Ontario, and more recently in November 2019 they toured the midwestern United States with their “Art of the Duo” program. The duo has presented masterclasses at the University of Tulsa, Berry College, and Albuqureque Youth Symphony, among others, and is an ensemble-in-residence for the Emerald Coast Chamber Music Festival and Institute.

Beginning her piano studies at age four with her mother, Sasha attended the Interlochen Arts Academy for high school where she was a student of Thomas Lymenstull. Sasha holds a Bachelor of Music, Honours and an Artist Diploma from The Glenn Gould School of the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, both completed under the direction of John Perry and David Louie as a full-scholarship recipient.
